Welcome to the Perthshire Photographic Society

PuffinInterested in photography ? Free on a Wednesday evening ? Why not come along and join our friendly club; Our members come from all walks of life and help make this a very lively and interesting group. During the winter session we have a variety of interesting talks, workshops, outings, competitions and preparations for exhibitions. There is also lots of discussion about the latest in cameras, lenses and all things photography. This continues later in the evening when we adjourn to the nearby hostelry for refreshment.

 

 

TreesNew members are welcome to join us for our new session which runs from October to March. We meet most Wednesdays at 7.30pm in the Museum, George Street, Perth. We look forward to seeing you then.

 

 

As well as our Club some of us get together every second Wednesday during the summer months for our Wanderers group. On these fun evenings, we all take turns to choose a subject to photograph locally. This summer has seen us Scavenging along the Ericht, photographing the beauty of Loch Faskally and Loch Dunmore, enjoying a sunny evening in the gardens of Cloan House, Auchterarder and following the William Soutar walk in Perth to name a few. We also start and finish the summer session with a social evening.

Interested in Joining the Perthshire Society of Natural Science ?

Important Information : Could all members remember to bring along digital images on the evening of Wednesday 7th January 2009 for selection to form part of the Society's entry for the SPF digital competition. The digital competition, this year, is a knockout competition and we need at least 20 and hopefully up to 40 images to select from during the judging rounds. The plans are to form an internal panel to select the images to be used and then to find someone who has done the slide knockout competition in the past to help the External Competition Secretary to go to the event and be able help in the "on the day" selection process.

Following the recent presentation by Graham Saunders of Saunders Imaging, he has kindly supplied us with copies of the Photoshop documents he spoke about during his talk.
